Security Keyless Keypad Code on the
FORD EXPEDITION OR F150 and how to use the Keypad functions
When your vehicle was newly purchased from the dealer it came with a card in the owner's manual packet that had the keypad code on it. The packet is often lost and/or discarded over time and as the vehicle trades owners the code to the Keyless Entry is lost. Ford Dealers wants some big money to get the code for you by plugging in their computer to retrieve the code or using the following method. Luckily there is a much easier and cheaper way for you to get the code and you do not need any tools or automotive knowledge. I'll show you how and where to find the code and how to reset the Keyless Entry back to the factory code or your personal code number.
This is the factory code card that came with your vehicle when it was new note the 5 digit number on the card.
The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located above the parking brake (see photo). A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the large bold 5 digit code on it like the one shown below mine on the module are 35737.
This is the 5 digit code you need off of the module. Write this number down this is the factory code for your Keyless Entry.
Now that you've got the code I'll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code.
Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.
Programming your own personal entry code
1. Enter the factory-set code (keypad will illuminate when first digit is pressed).
2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step 1.
3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Enter each digit within five seconds of the previous one.
Your personal code does not replace the factory-set code. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. Each time you set a new personal code the module will erase the previous one in favor of the new code. The factory-set code can not be erased.
Erasing your own personal code or a prior owners code and leaving only the factory-set code
1. Enter the factory-set code.
2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step one 1.
3. Press the 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time within five seconds of step two.
The system will now only respond to the factory-set code.
Unlocking the doors with the Keyless Entry System
1. Enter either the factory-set code or the personal code (Each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lights will illuminate as soon as the first valid digit is pressed.
2. To unlock all the doors, enter the factory set code or a personal code and press the 3/4 control within five seconds of the drivers door unlocking.
Locking the doors wit the Keyless Entry System
1. Press 7/8 and 9/0 controls at the same time. The 5-digit code does not have to be entered to lock the doors.
Deactivating/Activating Auto-lock
1. Enter the five 5-digit code.
2. Press and hold 7/8 control.
3. Press and release 3/4 control while holding 7/8 control.
4. Release 7/8 control.
The horn will chirp once if auto-lock was deactivated or twice if auto-lock was activated.
To program the hand held remotes:
Unlock all doors using the power door lock/unlock control. Insert a key and turn the ignition from the 1 (OFF/LOCK) to the 3 (ON) position and cycle between 1 (OFF/LOCK) and 3 (ON) eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) with the eighth turn ending in the 3 (ON) position. The locks will cycle to confirm that the programming mode has been entered. Within 20 seconds, program a remote transmitter by pressing any button on a transmitter. The locks will cycle once to confirm that the remote transmitter has been programmed. (If more than 20 seconds pass before pressing a remote transmitter button, the programming mode will exit and the procedure will have to be repeated.) Repeat the previous step to program additional remote transmitters. NOTE: All fobs must be programmed on the same time for all fobs to work. The locks will cycle once to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed. When you have completed programming the remote transmitters, turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position or wait 20 seconds. Again the doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming has been completed.

What episode in Season 2 stands out for you?
Contact the dealer from where the Montero was originally purchased (new from showroom).
Give them the Chasis number and they will provide you w&ith the stereo lock code from their records.
In-case the code is same for all 1997 Montero sports models then use the number 9613. This is the audio code of my Montero sport 1997 . Maybe it works in yours too!
 Good luck.

If you stick your head down by the pedals and look up in the direction of the drivers side rear view mirror, you will see a white box with 5 big, very obvious numbers. This is& your factory code.
Mine was pretty far towards the instrument panel so it I had to really get under to see it but it was there!

Having an unlocked smartphone means that the phone can be used on any wireless network. For instance, some phones can only be used on Sprint. If you choose to change carriers,& you will have to unlock your phone to change it over to the new network. If you are unable to do this, you will have to purchase a phone through your new carrier. Networks lock cell phones to discourage customers from leaving and choosing other carriers. If you would like more information about locked and unlocked Smartphones, please continue reading for a helpful overview of the topic.Certain carriers offer plans that feature unlocked phones, but you will pay more for these plans. When a locked phone is offered, you usually get a discount and have to sign a contract. The discount is typically for the phone itself and not for the plan. Most Smartphones are unlocked at the time of purchase. This is due to customer demand. It is possible to unlock a smartphone yourself and many people attempt this, however, computer-programming skills are required. If you are unfamiliar with programming, this task may be a challenge. If you make a mistake, an undesirable result called "bricking" will happen. This renders your phone unusable. Even if your phone is under warranty, your carrier will not replace or repair it for you because the process of trying to unlock it voids the warranty. If you are going to unlock your smartphone, use free software designed for this purpose. Make sure you know what you are doing to avoid breaking your phone. Some software must be downloaded to retrieve an unlocking code. Remove the SIM card from your device and enter the code via the keypad. After a series of other codes that pertain to your phone, such as the IMEI number, are entered, your phone should reboot. You will receive a message on your home screen indicating that the phone is now unlocked. It is legal to unlock your smartphone. However, it is possible you are violating your service agreement with the provider. Read your plan before taking this action. Some people compare unlocking and jailbreaking a smartphone as the same thing. This is not the case. Jailbreaking allows you to access applications that are not offered through the app store associated with the phone.Unlocking your smartphone in most cases is unnecessary, as most are now unlocked. However, should you need to do this free software can help. Be certain you can successfully complete this action, as mistakes can damage the phone. An unlocked phone gives you access to other networks without needing to purchase a new smartphone. Most of the time, carriers will provide you with an unlocked phone with a service contract. Before attempting to unlock your phone yourself, check with your carrier. Some networks will unlock you phone upon request, which will minimize the risk of the process.
One of the most common things BlackBerry users need to do is unlock their phone to use with another carrier or with a prepaid SIM card. Unlock your BlackBerry for free followi&ng a few simple steps and continue to use your device. Make sure your phone is already unlocked or blocked/hardlocked before you go through this process.First, find a website that offers free unlock codes. Many websites claim to offer free unlock codes but charge you when you request one. Several websites that offer free unlock codes for BlackBerry phones suggest a donation to keep the site operating. Choose a site that is reputable as some sites offer fake codes. Also, contact your wireless service provider to request an unlock code. This method is not always guaranteed to work though. Once you find a website that offers free unlock codes for BlackBerry phones, enter the requested information. Usually, you need to enter your email address, IMEI number and phone model. Click on Submit, and the unlock code website generates an unlock code for your BlackBerry phone. Write the code down, or keep the Web page open.If you do not know your IMEI number, type "*#06#" to get the 15 digit IMEI number. You may have to click on the Send key. Do not enter periods or spaces. Alternatively, go to the Options menu. From there, click on Status or go to the Options menu, and from there click on Device. Click on Device again, and from there, click on Status Information to retrieve your IMEI.If you do not know your phone model, open the small battery compartment on your phone. The model number is on the label inside. Or go to the Options menu. From there, click on About to view the phone model.
After you receive your unlock code, enter the provided code into your BlackBerry phone. Make sure you have a SIM card in your device, and turn off all network connections. From the home screen, go to the Options menu. From there, click on Advanced Options. Then, click on SIM Card.Type "mepd." The text does not appear on the screen while you type. Note that several BlackBerry models require you to open up your keyboard or hold down the Shift key before typing "mepd." Type in "mep2" by typing in "mep" using the keyboard, then press ALT and the number 2 to get "mep2." Enter your provided code in the Enter Network MEP Code box, and press Enter to confirm. If Code Accepted appears, your device is now unlocked.Once you unlock your BlackBerry for free, continue using your phone just as you did before. If you have any issues or questions, contact your wireless service provider. Since the 1990s, there were more than 10 different BlackBerry models introduced, which sold more than a cumulative 40 million units.
Having your car stolen is a stressful and potentially expensive violation. With technology becoming more and more advanced, some people worry that thieves can use high tech de&vices to steal cars with remote keyless entry systems. There are several myths circulating about thieves using technology to break into cars. Here is everything you need to know about car theft and technology. Some people believe that car thieves can intercept the signal sent from your remote keyless entry device to your car with a ?code grabber? and then steal your car using the intercepted data. Although this was plausible for early keyless entry devices that used fixed codes, keyless entry devices manufactured today use rolling codes to protect against this type of theft. Keyless entry devices now use different, random codes every time your car is locked or unlocked. Even if a thief could intercept the signal being sent from your device to your car, the data would be useless because the code would be different the next time you use it. Due to this new technology, ?code grabbers? are obsolete, and have been rendered useless to car thieves. Some individuals worry that a remote keyless entry device for a similar car may be able to unlock their own car. Cars of the same year, make, and model likely have the same keyless entry system, so perhaps they would use the same unlock codes. Since rolling codes are used in newer keyless entry devices, it is theoretically possible for this to happen, but completely improbable. Additionally, many modern keyless entry devices use data encryption in addition to rolling codes, which provides even more safety. The likelihood of two cars being in the same area and having the same keyless entry code is slim to none, and cars are never stolen in this way.The sound that your keyless entry device makes when you lock or unlock your car is unrelated to the code being sent to your car. The sound from your car alarm beeper alerts you that your car has been locked or unlocked, and many devices make the same sound. Even if a thief were to record this sound, they could not use it to break into your car. Your keyless entry device sends a silent code to your car, and this is what causes it to lock or unlock. If thieves do not have this silent code, they cannot get into your car. Some people believe that thieves can steal the code from your remote keyless entry device and save it on a USB drive. They can later use this code with their own technical gadgets to break into your car. Although your keyless entry device is linked to your vehicle, the code it uses to lock and unlock it changes. Even if a thief were to intercept the code being transmitted and store it on a USB drive, it would be useless if they tried to use it to get into your car. With over 4.8 million billion possible code combinations, the likelihood of a thief guessing the correct one is scarce. Most car thieves steal cars based on opportunity as opposed to planning. Usually thieves will break into a car by jimmying the lock or breaking a window. Most car thieves do not attempt to use high tech tools to get into cars. The likelihood of a car with keyless entry being stolen is no greater than the likelihood of another car being stolen. To protect yourself from car theft, make sure to always lock your car, be aware of your surroundings, and avoid high-risk situations.Although there are many myths circulating about thieves stealing cars using high tech tools and code grabbers, the reality is that these methods are not very effective or popular. Having a car with remote keyless entry does not make you any more susceptible to car theft than having a car without keyless entry. It is important to understand that many of the stories about car thieves using technology to steal cars are untrue. As long as you take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your car from theft, you are not likely to be a target for thieves. There are several myths circulating about thieves using technology to break into cars. Here is everything you need to know about car theft and technology.

Factory and provider restrictions limit the abilities of iPhones. To overcome these restrictions, many users jailbreak or unlock their phones. Users often confuse the two term&s, but they are not interchangeable and refer to different processes. To understand the differences of a jailbreak vs. unlock, you must first understand the technology and settings that affect both processes. The iPhone comes from the factory with Apple-installed settings. These settings determine the operating system, which apps the phone supports and which type of cellular technology the phone uses. Once they receive the phones, cellular providers tailor the phone to their networks by adding more settings. These additional settings tie the phone to a certain network and track usage.CDMA is a type of cellular technology. Large cell phone companies such as Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology. iPhones that use CDMA technology do not contain SIM cards to store customers' information. Instead, identification numbers in the phone's firmware link the phone to an account and enable it to work on a specific network.GSM is another type of cellular technology. It is far more common than CDMA and is the dominant technology everywhere except the U.S. GSM iPhones have SIM cards which are removable chips that allow a phone to work on a network. In the U.S., AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM technology.Unlocking an iPhone changes the provider settings of the phone and enables the phone to work on a different network. To unlock a GSM iPhone, you must first get an unlock code from the network provider, and then you must purchase a SIM card for a different network. Switching SIM cards without first unlocking the phone does not work. For CDMA phones, there is no card to switch, nor is there an unlock code. Since the phone's information is in its firmware, you must change the firmware to unlock the phone.Jailbreaking is the process of altering the firmware of an iPhone. It changes both the provider and factory settings of the phone and lets you use the phone on a different network and run different software. To jailbreak an iPhone, you must physically plug it into a computer and flash the firmware. Since cellular providers do not want you to switch networks, they do not jailbreak phones. For a fee, computer and mobile stores offer jailbreaking services. An unlocked iPhone frees you from network restrictions. You are able to travel with the phone and avoid roaming charges. You are also able to switch between providers without buying a new phone and having to sign a lengthy contract. Jailbreaking lets you customize your iPhone. You get to run third-party applications, run a new operating system and use your phone as a mobile hot-spot.Unlocked phones only work on networks with compatible technology. For example, an iPhone from AT&T does not work on Verizon because one uses GSM and the other uses CDMA. Since GSM is more common worldwide, an unlocked CDMA phone has limited potential outside the U.S. Jailbreaking a phone voids the factory warranty. It also exposes the iPhone to new security risks such as virus and malware threats.Deciding on a jailbreak vs. unlock for your iPhone depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to travel with your iPhone, you must unlock it. If you want to run new software on your phone, you must jailbreak it. If you do not plan on doing any of these things, there is no good reason to unlock or jailbreak your iPhone. It is possible to unlock a GSM iPhone without jailbreaking it. On the other hand, you must first jailbreak a CDMA iPhone before unlocking it.
Most new cars today don't need a key to unlock the car door. With other cars, you don't even need a key to drive. Keyless entry systems have become the latest technology used &to unlock a car door. In fact, this system not only unlocks your car door, it can unlock your trunk and signal your alarm system if someone tries to open your car door with a regular old key. With every good thing comes a new warning. There are worries that hackers may be able to intercept your signal and break into your car without even leaving a trace of evidence.Being able to open your car door without having to fumble for your keys is a good thing. It much easier to grab the small key fob and press the button, than to juggle groceries and try to get a key in the locked door. In addition, if you forget to lock your car door you can always hit the button from inside the house. You probably wonder if your keyless remote could open other cars like yours. With the new rolling or hopping codes, that will never be a problem. Each code is unique to your vehicle. You never have to worry about someone else gaining access to your code and breaking in.Currently it isn't even possible for hackers to intercept your code and get into your car. This myth keeps making the rounds and just puts people on edge. With the rolling codes, every time you push the button to open your car door, the frequency that has been transmitted by your key fob changes. The bad news that goes with keyless entry systems is if it stops working without warning you may have trouble getting into your car for a while. You may have to use your keys after all. You may be spoiled and until it's fixed you'll still be reaching for that button. Replacing a key fob costs about $20 to $30, while purchasing an extra key made only costs around a dollar. Keys will last forever whereas using your key fob day after day can result in some wear and tear on the buttons. Not to mention, changing the batteries in the fob can be somewhat difficult. It used to be that only newer, upscale vehicles had keyless entry systems to unlock and lock their doors. Alarm systems were separate entities. Now they all work together and they are standard on almost all new cars today. You can easily tell by the sounds of the parking lot. You used to hear the birds chirping. Now all you hear are the sounds of the horns beeping to tell you that your car is locked. It used to be that only newer, more upscale vehicles had keyless entry systems to unlock and lock their doors. If you don't know the pattern or code you must do a hard reset. This will erase all of your data. Take battery and sim card out. Put battery only back in. Press and hold both &volume keys, then simultaneously press and hold the power button until the Samsung Logo appears. When it appears release all buttons and reboot mode will launch. Use the volume keys to go up or down through the menus. Use the Power button to select a choice. Follow the obvious path. After reboot take the battery back out and re-install your sim card. Install the battery and you are good to go!

Ger the serial # off the back of the radio and go to your Chevy dealer. He will be able to tell you the code by using this #.
& Don't forget to also bring the car and proof of ownership since this is an anti-theft device and would be useless if the thief could just call the dealer.
The unlock code depends on the device in question. You often obtain the code by contacting the manufacturer or carrier.

After 13 years of ownership of my '99 Expedition, I locked all the keys in the truck with the lights on and inadvertently left it overnight. I was left with with a dead ba&ttery, no keys, and no working key- the outlook appeared grim. I needed to open the hood and charge the battery to unwind my mess. I discovered this: from underneath the truck and behind the bumper there is a flat rubber blanket (cooling seal) that directs airflow. Unclip the three forward push fasteners and pull back the rubber blanket, you now have a clear view of the bottom of the hood latch. You will see inside the latch the release cable, the rotating latch mechanism that is also connected to a spring. There is a hole in the center of this mechanism. Use a clothes hanger with a small bend at the end, insert into the hole, and pull down. It will quickly and effortlessly unlatch. Project is 10 minutes, tops.
