Here We Come Canada
Less Than Jake announce
their across Canada tour !
****TICKET LINKS UPDATED*****
Less Than Jake's bass player Roger Lima says "America's hat is a great place to eat some poutine" and with that sentence you know that LTJ is looking for a good time on the run of headline shows across Canada this October.
Less Than Jake return to the great white north for their first Canadian tour in 4 year in support of their latest release on Fat Wreck Chords See The Light .
While some other bands of a certain vintage are latching onto musical trends, you won’t find any dubstep beats or vocoder distortion onSee The Light—a title that nods to the band’s history of marrying dark lyrical content (the tunnel) to bouncy musical arrangements (the light at the end). Less Than Jake aren’t turning away from their roots, and echoing Mark Twain, Fiorello points out that the rumors regarding their genre’s demise are greatly exaggerated: “Punk has been declared dead every year for 30+ years and it’s still going stronger than ever. People like to declare things dead just because it’s dead to them, but if bands are passionate about what they’re doing, they’ll attract fans who are passionate.”
Do The Math is the title track from See The Light and the a-side of a 7"that was released in June. The b-side is a previously unreleased original titled “Connect the Dots "from their See The Light recording sessions. Read what drummer Vinnie Fiorello had to say about this single below:
“The song is an important one to everyone in the band, it encapsulates being through ups and downs in life- not only remembering who was there for you but also who is still around. The notion that you have to carry this heavy weight around on your shoulders becomes null and void when you realize the people, places, and things that matter the most in your life.”
The new "Do The Math" video is as much fun as the band.
This tour begins hot off the heels after hitting a giant milestone for the band as this summer Less Than Jake celebrated their 365th Warped Tour date.
Make sure to catch Less Than Jake on tour across Canada this fall with special guests Big D And The Kids Table and The Interrupters !

and let me tell you that if you haven’t listened to it, You should get your earholes into it right now.
"The five of us wrote it in our rehearsal space without any outside influences,". "We recorded it at Roger's home studio and at the end of tracking it, we all felt we made something special. Time will tell, of course, but we feel this is the strongest collection of songs we have released in some time. Also, we are extremely excited to be back on Fat Wreck Chords and to have them backing us for this album. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”

Listen to our new song "My Money Is On The Longshot" from our new record SEE THE LIGHT coming November 12th
Noisey says this about our new song " My Money Is On The Longshot":
"....Let’s take a minute to give it up for . Not only has the Florida band stuck it out for 20 years, which in ska years is a lifetime, but they’ve also endured numerous label changes, which would normally kill most bands. The band’s albums have had temporary homes with everyone from Capitol Records to the tiny, now-defunct Dill Records. And on top of it all, the band has maintained their status as the only ska band people aren’t embarrassed to admit to liking.
But now, Less Than Jake are back on Fat Wreck to release See The Light, their first album in five years. Not sure if there’s anything nerdier than splitting hairs with ska albums, but if we hypothetically were, you could probably argue that the album is the closest thing to band’s old-school sound that we’ve heard in a while. It definitely brings to mind elements from the band’s debut album, Pezcore. But again, that’s only if we were being ska nerds...which we’re definitely not.
LTJ will soon be headlining the Fat Tour with Anti-Flag, Get Dead, and those rapscallions in Masked Intruder.See The Light is out next month
Make your high school self proud and give their new song a listen..."

The South American Tour Is Cancelled!
We hate to announce this but the upcoming tour to South AMerica has been cancelled by the promoter, This is out of our hands and fall to the promoter doing the shows. We deeply regret letting down the people that support LTJ. The message below is from the promoter:
WROS Fest Brazil postponed!
We regret to inform that WROS Fest is being postponed for December this year, due to unexpected circumstances, such as logistic and bureaucratic issues.
We’ve tried till last minute to keep the festival on the dates of 12-13 October. But today we’ve taken a decision to postpone the festival to avoid problems to band’s fans, mainly those who were making travel plans to be in Sao Paulo on next weekend for the festival.
WROS Fest 2013 will happen on 21-22 December 2013, at same venue Espaco das Americas in Sao Paulo. And tickets already purchased for the festival will remain valid for the new dates of December. In the next few days we will be confirming details of all bands confirmed for the new dates of WROS Fest, and more details.
Those who would like to request reimbursements for tickets purchased, please get in touch with us via .br.
In order to compensate festival's fans for more 2 months of waiting, those who keep their tickets for December will receive a voucher that will give 10% discount when purchasing tickets for WROS Fest 2014.
With the postponment of WROS Fest, the Warm Up shows of Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro, scheduled for this Thursday 10 October, are also postponed for December. And in the next few days we will inform about confirmed bands and details.

Hmm can you use something like this for the distillation process: http://www./products_detail.php?cat_id=3&prod_id=48&lang=en
Not that expensive and its steam distillation.

Wow, really interesting background story here! I've always loved the history of different drinks.
So thanks for that! What sort of drinks would you use Jake with?~Nancy Lewis~

Hey Darcy thanks so much for the shout out and the help I cant wait to whip this stuff up... ps your response time was legendary

Hey Tony,With fresh ginger root tincture you are more likely to get the less desirable compounds (bitter, astringent, etc.). This is why during prohibition the US government required ginger solids in Jamaica Ginger to make it less palatable. The distillation process used is actually "steam distillation" which passes steam through the ginger, extracting the oils in the process. Typical distillation won't work.

Hey Darcy,Very interesting post! Ginger ale is hard to come by here so this could be a great solution. How does this method compare to a simple ginger tincture using the fresh root + alcohol? My guess is that going the distilled way one would also have to have a still more especially suited for essential oils. The boiling point of ginger oil should be around 254C (according to the oracle) so on a regular still you?d have to use what is left in the still (and not the alcohol coming out) for the preparation.
This means that one would have to run the still until almost dry to leave just the oils behind, and that’s not recommended either.Did I get this right?(at the same time I bet the alcohol coming out of that still would taste pretty interesting too)
