Dell Inspiron 1564 :: Hard Drive Funnel Seek Test Failed

I have Dell Inspiron 1564
The dell support center PC Check showed my hard drive funnel seek test failed. Before I ran the PC check, the laptop flashed and shutdown. I restarted in safe mode and backed up all of my files, shut down the laptop again and restarted.
I am currently rebooting the laptop, and have inserted the Dell Diagnostics and utilities CD and testing my hard drive. the following error code keeps occurring..No additional sense information
Test Results: Fail
Error Code: 0F00:1332
Msg: DISK - Block 4507 : Interrupt Request (IRQ) did not set in time
The same message also occurred with the following Block Numbers, with the same error code:
these are the block numbers so far, the test is still running.

I have the
Dell XPS L501x and am now getting a failed message when the SMART Short Self Test is run. The message says:&Your drive indicates that a failure may be imminent. Backup all important files and replace drive.&The hard drive is SAMSUNG HM640JJ.A couple of questiions please:1. I take if that this is a legitimate error message as opposed to some system glitch.2. If I buy another SAMSUNG HM640JJ drive how can transfer the data from the old to the new.

I've been using my Dell Inspiron N7110 with windows 7 for a little over a year now and a couple days ago, I turned it on to find out it wouldn't boot up anymore. It works normally up until it gets to the windows logo animation, which does not occur anymore. It seems just stall here for a bit then show the wallpaper for the login screen but will not show the area to input login credentials. This happens the exact same way even when I choose to start up in safe mode or anything like that. So I ran a diagnostic and everything checked out except for the hard drive. It gives me the error &Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N 6VER58HG, self test unsuccessful. Status = 79&. The hard drive still seems to be seen in the diagnostics and such, but does not to be responsive I suppose.

I have inspiron 5520 laptop, i ran a diagnostic test which shows Hard disc test failure. it also shows hard disc failure is imminent .Also in dell support center - pc checkup I ran test Hard disc failled in two tests, Targeted read test and SMART short self test, my laptop is under warranty. what should i do?

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110. The Warranty ran out in July of last year so for some reason I cannot email technical support directly.I ran the Dell PC Diagnostic test earlier today, all of which passed with the exception of the SMART Short Self Test which failed. Apparently my hard drive is &operating outside of normal parameters and should be replaced&. I tried this twice, once with the Dell diagnostic software installed on my laptop and once using the downloadable diagnostics from the Dell website, both had the same outcome.
I then tried the system diagnostics accessed via the F12 key on system startup. Again all passed but the hard drive test which would not run and provided the following message:Error code validation 12985Msg Hard Drive 0 s/n (omitted), self test unsuccessful status = 7I have read around on the support forums that the next step to try is removing and replacing the hard drive then re-running the diagnostics. If this does not solve the issue and I have to replace the hard drive does that mean I will need to buy a new copy of windows to install on the hard drive, as my laptop came with no disks? I have backed up all my important files but obviously not any programs.what my next steps would be and what the process is should I have to replace my hard drive? I am a &noob& in this area and don't want to spending uneccassary money on parts that don't need to be replaced or buying software I don't need to replace as it is already available if you see what I mean?

My HP Pavilion G6 laptop fails to load Windows. The HP UEFI diagnostics for hard disk failed the Short DST test with failure code GU754F-6PK7GW-MFPWXG-60TQ03. Does this mean I have to replace my hard drive? My laptop's product ID is E3D62EA#ABU and I have Win8.1 64-BIT installed on it.

My laptop HP Pavilion dv6-6c35dx
fails to load Windows. I ran diagnostics and got a quick (303) error. The HP UEFI diagnostics for hard disk failed the Short DST test with failure code MBX47F 0006QU PXGK01 60QT03. Does this mean I have to replace my hard drive? My laptop's product ID is A6Y53UAR#ABA and I have Win7 -64 installed on it.

my laptop has failed the hard drive diagnostic with an error code of , and looking here in the forum I see it means that I should replace the hard drive. That being said, I am not actually having any problems with my computer. I ran the f12 diagnostic after a routine scan notified me of a smart short test fail and it came up on the diagnostic as well. Does that mean that at any moment I would actually see something happen?

I have a Pavilion dv7 1245dx with Windows Vista 64 Bit bought 2009 at Best Buy.
It slid off the arm of the couch onto a carpeted floor while shut down.
Next day started ok, got into yahoo, facebook, then kind of froze up.
Eventually, would not do anything, manually shut it down, started it back up. Black screen, 'No Bootable Device-Insert Boot Disc And Press Any Key'. It will not accept recovery discs that I made after purchase. Start up test ok, memory test ok, hard disk failed 'Boot Drive Not Found'. Caps lock light is blinking.
I saw something in a forum about resetting or reseating the hard drive but no explanantion how to do it.

During updating BIOS with this i have error &BIOS update failed! Image verification failed. Error code -200& and laptop was frozen, keyboard and touchpad doesn't respond. After 30 min i remove AC and battery from my laptop and try to power on again, but dell not respond. What can I do now?

My system (Inspiron 1564 - Windows 7) is still configured as I received it from Dell. The C drive is 58.5 Gb and the D drive is 164 Gb.The problem is that everything saves to the C drive and nothing uses the D drive.I do not want to reformat in one drive, happy to keep 2 but want pictures, documents etc to be saved to the D drive as the C drive is getting full up. How do I make the change to point these files to the D drive?

I'm not able to start my laptop properly so I tried to resolve this problem as following:1. I recently ran a test on my laptop(N4050).It first showed me I had a SMART extended self test failure. Then I had a hardware failure message. I have attached one of the things.May I know what am I supposed to do? My warranty has expired.

I have a dell inspiron 1750, and the past couple of weeks, i have been having intermittent screen problems, it occurs when i shut the computer down and then restart it, sometimes it works, sometimes i get a bit of light off the screen but its just blank (black), i know everything works because when the windows 7 start up screen comes on, i can hear the sound and can enter my password (even though i have a blank/black screen), i did a diagnostic test and the lcd test failed, i got the error code:Error code 0321Msg: Error code Msg: LCD EDID - Unable to access the EDID EEPROMI just moved he screen, and it goes different colours and pixels go out of place, i think it might be a loose/bad connection on the right hinge where the laptop joins the screen?

I had hp pavilion 2230 tx laptop which is out of warranty. My laptop doesn't starting .It goes on Automatic Repair and after a minute it starts &Diagonising your PC& which remain for hours and at last &Automatic repair failed& message appears, below it restore option is also available. I proceed to restore but it also fails.Then I shutdown the laptop and open it again and I pressed esc button quickly and then I tried to test the hard drive which doesn't go furthur testing and display &hard drive test fails&. Whether my hard disk is crashed or not.

My xps 1530 is about a year old. The hard drive has failed 3 times now.
The first two times I got a bit of advance warning with blue screens and error messages.
This time no warning.
Rebot and error message that hard drive can not be found.
I tried reseating the drive a few times and nothing.
I have the solid state hard drives.Is this a problem of the hard drive or the lap top?
Can I request a regular hard drive from
dell this time?

I have Dell XPS 2013 laptop purchased in June 2013 with Windows 7 professional OS install in it. Suddenly the laptop stopped working giving an error message with complete black screen: error: no such partition.grub rescue &When I took it to the service center they told me the hard drive of the system might have failed leading to such error. I am still unsure is it due to hard disk failure? On the top of that I have many important working files stored in the system for which I could not able to take back up. Is there any way I can retrieve my files? If I need to purchase a new hard drive which specifications I need to order. Unfortunately the system had only 1-year warranty period...

I'm trying to load a new hard drive for my Dell Studio 1557 LT due to the original failed. I've worked on many PCs and LTs before and loaded software so I know the basics and then some. Problem is, when the LT boots from the OS from an external dvd drive -Win 7 64
when it attempts a write to the hard drive at the same point in the installation every time it blue screens then reboots. I cannot capture the blue screen info due to the immediate reboot. I have tried many utilities and other hard drives but the LT wont let me write to the hd to load an OS. I tried loading a hd from another pc then install it into this LT,
same results blue screen then reboot. Very strange as if the LT wont allow a new hard drive or OS to be loaded. I've been trying to get this loaded for a week now and have tried everything. The hd was even DoD low level formatted too. Is there s Dell disk I need to get it started ?
