I could not submit the report as it came up with the same error during submission.
Reproduce:
create a simple form with a client dataset, provider, query and connection (I had to use MyDAC MySql for the query and connector)
Then open the fields editor and click to add a field
Workarounds
Please close / cancel this - I have reapplied SP1 and it has cleared the problem - I don't have the time to trace back what caused, sorry.

Just opened 'version info' from the about box and there are no entries for anything beginning with midas

I have now tried to do a repair on the Rad Studio XE installation via control panel.
It displayed an error - The installer has insufficient priviliges to modify this file
C:\PROGRA~3\{7DE(&~1\vclwin32runtimes\598EEE8C\3E6B52DE\midas.dll with abort, retry, ignore
when I look in C:\ProgramData\{7DE921C9-42C8-4DA3-8A44-043C3349FD1D}\vclwin32runtimes\598EEE8C\3E6B52DE
there are 2 files
midas.jdbg and midasDO NOT USE.dll
