Reading up on the latest news in the cat world can be a worthwhile endeavor, and if you choose the right periodical that suits your interests, it can be a lot of fun. There ar&e many general ones to choose from, but you can find ones that focus more on specific topics if you look hard enough. If you want to keep up on the progress of health issues concerning your pet, you may want to try a veterinary newsletter rather than a general one. Here are five cat magazines for you and your feline friend. One of the first things you will notice about this monthly periodical is that it bases each issue on a particular breed. This breed is prominently displayed on the front of each issue. Along with a general news and information section, a few sections are helpful to certain kinds of feline enthusiasts. They feature a directory of breeds where you can buy or adopt and a sales directory where classified ads for cats are listed. If you are looking for a particular breed, this could be a good resource in your search. A help section called "Ask the vet" provides a way for readers to contact the magazine and have professionals answer their questions. This is a monthly newsletter published by the Cummins School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University for "caring cat owners." It covers a wide range of topics from behavior issues to new techniques for health care. One main section has vets answer reader questions to give them expert advice. If you are looking for the new information about caring for your pet, this periodical updates owners on new research and trends in the veterinary world. It contains many quality articles that are as interesting as they are helpful to veterinarians and owners alike. This is another monthly newsletter that is printed by the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. One aspect that separates them from other periodicals is that they do not use advertising as a source of revenue. This means you can be more confident that they will not have a bias towards specific medications or procedures. The subjects they focus on tend more to health issues than general topics. If you are looking for the newest ways to keep your pet healthy, you may want to subscribe to this one. This bimonthly periodical covers general subjects and holds contests each issue. Some of the topics covered are feline health, poetry, and support for different organizations. An example of one organization that was featured is Alley Cat Allies, which works for the education about and humane treatment of feral felines. Stories that focus on news and new regulations that can affect owners can be found in each issue. If you were interested in reading a lighthearted magazine then this would be a good read.Modern Cat started in 2004 as a small section within Modern Dog. It is founded on trying to provide the best information and exciting news from the feline world. You can expect to find projects, tips, homemade recipes, interviews, and contests within the pages of the periodical. There are two issues each year, one for spring and summer, and one for fall and winter. They work to support organizations that help abused and homeless feral felines. A portion of the cost of each issue goes towards supporting the programs those organizations provide. If you are a feline enthusiast, then these five cat magazines might interest you. However, it all depends on what you are looking for. Periodicals like CatWatch and Catnip Magazine will provide you with completely different information than Modern Cat and Cat Fancy. It is possible to order all of them, but you may just want to focus on what matters to you and your cat the most. Learning about changes in the veterinary field can help you make better decisions when you pet goes to the vet, but you can get more varied kinds of information that might help you learn more about raising your pet better from a general magazine.Cat Fancy was first published in 1965. One of the great things about this magazine is that it is staffed by true experts. This includes Helen Jablonski, a consultant on cat behavior, and Sandy Robbins, an expert on pet lifestyles.
