This document applies to HP desktop and notebook computers with CyberLink Media Suite and Windows 8.

CyberLink Media Suite is a dashboard application that provides quick and easy access to each CyberLink app.
For example, you can use CyberLink Media Suite to go directly to an app function like Play a Movie Disc (in the PowerDVD app) or Create a Movie Disc (in the PowerDirector app). You can also create a Favorites menu of the functions you use most often. For more detailed information,
use the CyberLink Media Suite Help menu. Click
icon in the upper right corner to open the Help menu.
This document explains how to use CyberLink Media Suite to navigate to other CyberLink apps.
Follow the steps in this document to open CyberLink media apps directly to the desired function within each app.
At the Start screen, type CyberLink Media Suite to open the Search charm. Click CyberLink Media Suite from the list of results.
CyberLink Media Suite opens to the Favorites tab.
Use the CyberLink Media Suite tabs, Favorites, Video, Photo, Audio, and Utilities to view menus for accessing specific CyberLink apps.
Each menu contains quick access buttons to CyberLink Products, About, and Preferences windows.

Click a quick access button to open the CyberLink Products, About, or Preferences windows.

Click a CyberLink Media Suite product to open the app. For example, click the PowerDVD link to open the CyberLink PowerDVD app.

NOTE: CyberLink apps available in CyberLink Media Suite depend upon the apps installed on your computer and the version that you have.

Use the Preferences menu to choose the behavior of CyberLink Media Suite:
Return to Media Suite after you close a program: Select this option to return to the Media Suite main window after you close a program you accessed through the program portal.
Automatically check for the latest version: Select this option if you want Media Suite to automatically check for newer versions of the installed software applications every 14 days. When new versions are available, the corresponding Update and Upgrade buttons in the Upgrade window are enabled.
Receive CyberLink product information: Select this option to enable banner and running text in the About window.
Display Language: Select the Use system default language option to use the same language as your current operating system language, or select the other option and manually select the preferred language from the drop-down list that you want to use.
NOTE: If the operating system language setting is not supported by CyberLink Media Suite, the app defaults to English.
Navigate CyberLink Media Suite functions using
the tabs at the bottom of the app screen.
Each tab provides easy access to functions specific to the type of media you are working with.
Favorites: Use the Favorites tab to make and access a list of links to the CyberLink Media Suite functions you use most frequently.

Click the Favorites tab to open the Favorites menu, and then select any of the following options:
To add a function to the Favorites menu: Click one of the tabs to open the Video, Photo, Audio, or Utilities menu.
Then click the
icon next to the function that you want to add to the Favorites menu. The function then displays in the Favorites menu.
To remove a function from the Favorites menu: Click the Favorites tab to open the Favorites menu.
Select the Star
icon next to the function you want to remove from the Favorites menu. The function no longer displays in the Favorites menu.
Video: Use the Video menu to navigate directly to CyberLink video functions.

Click the Video tab to open the Video menu, and then select any of the following options:
Select Play a Movie Folder, Play Video Files or Play a Movie Disc from the Media Suite video menu to play a movie from a disc, YouTube, or
a file. Media Suite opens CyberLink PowerDVD directly to the selected function. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Select Create a Movie Disc, Easy Video Editing, or Advanced Video Editing from the Media Suite video menu to create videos, or add sound, text, or special effects to your videos and slideshows. Media Suite opens CyberLink PowerDirector directly to the selected function. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Select View Online Movie Info from the Media Suite video menu to get information about movies and to download movies. Media Suite opens the
Web site (in English).
NOTE: The Convert Videos function requires an upgrade to Media Suite. To upgrade Media Suite, click the Upgrade
icon to open the Upgrade
Photo: Use the Photo menu to navigate directly to CyberLink photo functions.

Click the Photo tab to open the photo menu, and then select any of the following options:
Create or Play a Slideshow Disc: Select Create or Play a Slideshow Disc from the Media Suite photo menu to create or play a slideshow disc. Media Suite opens CyberLink PowerDVD directly to the selected function. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Create a Slideshow Disc: Select Create a Slideshow Disc from the Media Suite photo menu to create a slideshow disc. Media Suite opens CyberLink PowerDirector directly to the selected function. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Import and Organize Photos and Edit and Enhance Photos : Select Import and Organize Photos or Edit and Enhance Photos from the Media Suite photo menu to import,
organize, edit or enhance photos. Media Suite opens CyberLink PhotoDirector directly to the selected function. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Audio: Use the audio menu to navigate directly to CyberLink audio functions.

Click the Audio tab to open the Audio menu, and then select any of the following:
Select Rip an Audio CD from the Media Suite audio menu to copy an audio CD to your computer. Media Suite opens CyberLink Power2Go directly to the rip audio function.
Select Convert an Audio File from the Media Suite audio menu to convert an audio file to WAV or WMA format. Media Suite opens CyberLink Power2Go directly to the audio converter function.
Select Burn a Music Disc from the Media Suite audio menu to make a music CD. Media Suite opens CyberLink Power2Go directly to the music disc creator function.
NOTE: The Record Audio and Edit Audio functions require an upgrade to CyberLink Media Suite. To upgrade Media Suite, click the Upgrade
icon to open the Upgrade

Utilities: Use the Utilities tab to get direct access to CyberLink LabelPrint (Create and print disc labels, covers and jewel case inlays.) and CyberLink Power2Go (Create, copy, and erase disc media, and work with ISO files on a virtual drive.).

Click the Utilities tab to open the utilities menu, and then select any of the following options:
Select Print a Disc Label from the Media Suite utilities menu to create and print disc labels, covers, and jewel case inlays. Media Suite opens the CyberLink LabelPrint app menu. Refer to the HP support document
for more information.
Select Create a Data Disc from the Media Suite utilities menu to create a data disc. Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go data disc creator function.
Select Copy a Disc or Burn a Disc Image from the Media Suite utilities menu to copy a disc or burn a disc image (ISO file). Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go copy disc function.
Select Extract files from a Disc Image from the Media Suite utilities menu to extract files from a disc image (ISO file). Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go ISO viewer function.
Select Erase a Disc from the Media Suite utilities menu to erase a disc. Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go erase rewritable media function.
Select Mount a Virtual Drive from the Media Suite utilities menu to mount a virtual drive for working with disc images and ISO files. Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go virtual drive function.
Select Burn a DVD Folder from the Media Suite utilities menu to burn media content within a DVD folder to a DVD disc. Media Suite opens the CyberLink Power2Go burn DVD folder function.
NOTE: The Back Up and Restore Files function requires an upgrade to CyberLink Media Suite. To upgrade Media Suite, click the Upgrade
icon to open the Upgrade

View product version information for the CyberLink programs installed on the computer. The CyberLink programs are listed with the current version number and an icon indicating whether there is an upgrade or an application update available.
It is important to know the difference between an application "update" and an application "upgrade." An application update modifies the version of the application that is on the computer. Updates are usually free. An application upgrade provides a newer full version of the same application. Upgrades can generally be purchased from the application provider

Click the Upgrade
icon to open the Upgrade
menu to view product version information for the CyberLink apps currently installed on your computer. They are listed in a table, along with the current version number, and buttons indicating
the availability of free updates.
Product upgrades may also be purchased and downloaded from this menu.
Update: When enabled, click the Update
icon in the Update column to open a window where you can download the latest free update for the corresponding CyberLink app.
Upgrade: Click the Upgrade
icon in the Upgrade column to open a window where you can download a CyberLink product upgrade, when available.
